•  This recruitment is managed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
•  The exam is officially called the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2026.
•  The official notice was released under the notification number 01/2026 GEOL.
•  There are a total of 85 empty seats available for different specialist roles.
•  These positions fall under Group A and Group B categories within the government.

•  The registration process for these jobs began on 03 September 2025.
•  Applicants had until the evening of 23 September 2025 to submit their forms.

•  The minimum age required to apply for these posts was 21 years.
•  The upper age limit for general applicants was set at 32 years.
•  The age of the candidate is calculated based on their status as of 01 January 2026.
•  Specific age relaxations were provided according to government recruitment rules.

•  Geologist Group A: There are 39 openings requiring a Master’s degree in Geology or related Earth Sciences.
•  Geophysicist Group A: Only 2 seats are available for those with a Master’s in Physics or Geophysics.
•  Chemist Group A: 15 positions are open for candidates holding an M.Sc. in various Chemistry fields.
•  Scientist B: 8 vacancies exist for specialists in Hydrogeology, Chemical, or Geophysics branches.
•  Assistant Roles: 21 posts are available for Assistant Hydrogeologists and Chemists with relevant Master’s degrees.
•  Candidates who were in their final year of the Master's degree were also eligible to apply.

•  Candidates must first qualify for the Preliminary exam to reach the Mains stage.
•  The selection process involves three main parts: Prelims, Mains, and an Interview.
•  Applicants were advised to read the full notification before starting the form.
•  All basic documents like ID proof and address details had to be gathered first.
•  Scanned copies of the candidate's photo and signature were required for the upload.
•  Before the final submission, it was necessary to check all the details in the preview.
